Grant Thornton x Jedess Hudson | Aboriginal Art for Reconciliation
It was an honour to collaborate with Grant Thornton on their Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) artwork, titled A Unified Way. This artwork reflects the company’s commitment to reconciliation and their vision of supporting clients, community, and people to thrive.
The Story Behind the Artwork
For this project, I created a 182cm x 120cm original canvas artwork, alongside a vector-based digital version to support the rollout across corporate materials, offices, and signage. This dual approach ensures the artwork can be experienced both in its full-scale, hand-painted form and seamlessly adapted across a wide range of applications.
The design draws inspiration from the pathways of connection across Grant Thornton’s six office locations. At its heart, the artwork speaks to the value of walking together, learning from one another, and strengthening relationships between First Nations communities and corporate partners.
Circles throughout the piece represent the voices of diverse communities coming together, guided by Grant Thornton’s CARE values. Pathways weave between these hubs, symbolising the unifying journey toward reconciliation and shared prosperity.
Why It Matters
Creating culturally authentic artwork for RAPs is about more than design, it’s about embedding meaningful storytelling into the foundation of a business. Through this collaboration, Grant Thornton has demonstrated leadership and accountability in reconciliation, ensuring their people and clients can engage with a visual reminder of their ongoing journey.
A Unified Way in Action
Displayed across Grant Thornton’s offices, this artwork now serves as both a conversation starter and a cultural marker. It reflects a commitment to diversity and inclusion, while also celebrating the richness of Aboriginal culture through contemporary design.
Looking Ahead
Collaborations like this show how Aboriginal art can shape the corporate landscape, transforming spaces, deepening engagement, and creating a legacy of reconciliation.
If your organisation is seeking a meaningful way to integrate Aboriginal storytelling into your RAP or corporate spaces, I’d love to collaborate with you. Together, we can create artwork that reflects your journey while honouring culture and community.
